Hi all A new year has started and as we have done the last couple of years we will attend "DM i programmering" (Danish Programming Championship). DM i programmering is a team competition, which means you sit 2-3 people at one computer and solve the problems given. We are happy to announce that again this year we will be one of the two sites for the Danish Programming Championship graciously sponsored by Netcompany A/S!! The championship will take place on October 1st from 10.00 - 19.00. The event will consist of a programming contest part and afterwards there will be free pizza and beer along with a run through of the problems. Last year the event was very successful and we hope to see a high attendance again this year! But in order for this to happen you have to sign up, so grab your friends and bring them along. During the contest there will be free food and beverages, so all you have to do is send me (jasn at cs dot au dot dk) an email with team members and team name. For further information see Netcompany's article (the first link below). More information on the contest can be found here: http://www.netcompany.com/dm (danish) and here: http://ncpc.idi.ntnu.no/ncpc2011/ Regarding teams, if you do not have one but still wish to attend the competition send me an email and I will put you in contact with others in the same situation. If you do have a team please send me an email with the members so that I can get in touch with you. To prepare ourselves for the upcoming contest we will have several practice sessions where you can come and learn more about programming competitions and pratice your problem solving skills. The practice sessions will take place on: Tuesdays at 14-17 in Stibitz-123. More information can be found at Mark Greve's local site about programming contests: http://www.cs.au.dk/~mgreve/algocomp Or this one: http://www.cs.au.dk/~jasn/algocomp In case you have any questions please send me an email. Best regards, Jesper
