These robots played "An der Schönen blauen Donau" by J. Strauss on various instruments.
Each robot had its own, unique head capable of some facial expression like raising its sunglasses,
rolling its eyes or moving its lips.

The seven robots performed a small act where one of them (playing a marimba) persuaded
the others into playing the piece, and the composer robot eventually made sure no one fell out of step.

We were several people involved: Esben Østergaard did most of the programming, I built the robot heads and programmed the act. Further, we had a professional builder on loan from LEGO who built the robot bodies, and a musician who arranged the musical piece for our particular set of instruments (I don't remember their names, but I'll be more than happy to credit them).

This link will take you back to my robots page.

Here's a video clip from a trial performance.

The robots were part of a LEGO publicity campaign; you can read about other robots in the project here.
